Flash Flood Breaks Through Doors of Campus Building

Security cameras captured a flash flood bursting through the door of a building at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill. The water level in the building then continued to rise and eventually even desks began floating. The rapid rise and speed of the water gives you an idea of how dangerous a flash flood can be. The school was forced to cancel classes through May 31 due to the damage. Fortunately, no one was injured because the building had been evacuated. The Midwest has received plenty of rain over the past several days. This summer has been nearly the opposite of last year's drought for the region. Normal, Ill. received nearly a foot of rain over the Memorial Day weekend. Here is the footage of the flash flood at the campus building. Take a look:
