Iowa Man Discovers Mammoth Bones in Backyard

ABC 5 in Des Moines reports that an Iowa man, named John, has been digging up the bones of a prehistoric mammoth in his backyard since 2010. The first bone John discovered was a massive femur bone. Since then he has found vertebrae and rib bones. John has enlisted the help of archaeologists and paleontologists from the University of Iowa, but the bones are all his because they are in his yard. John isn't sure what he is going to do with all the bones. He says he might add a room to the side of his house where he can put the mammoth skeleton together. Take a look:
