Nefertiti, the Spidernaut, Spent 100 Days in Space

A jumping spider named Nefertiti spent 100 days on the International Space Station. The female jumping spider was dubbed the world's first Spidernaut. She traveled 42 million miles during her time aboard the ISS.
Nefertiti went on display in the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History on Nov. 29, 2012, shortly after her journey in space, but she died a few days later. The Smithsonian says she died of natural causes. Neffi lived for 10 months, which is close to the 1-year lifespan of her species, Phidippus johnsoni.
