People Can Scale Vertical Walls With Personal Vacuum Assisted Climber
A Utah State University student created the Personal Vacuum Assisted Climber (PVAC), a wall climbing tool which relies on a portable vacuum pack and large suction cups. PC Worldreports that the U.S. Air Force has invested in the technology. The PVAC can support 500 to 700 pounds, depending on how high the climber is. A downside of the device is it is as loud as a vacuum cleaner, so it would not work in its current form for stealth missions. The first video is a PVAC demonstration.
