Telemedicine: Robonaut Trained to Give Humans Injections

NASA has enlisted the help of physicians to help get its Robonaut space robot to remotely perform some medical tasks. Some of the procedures Robonaut is being trained for include injections and ultrasound. Robonaut can be seen injecting a syringe into a dummy. Someday a human in space could be getting an injection from Robonaut. A doctor on Earth could remotely guide Robonaut through the medical procedure in space. The goal is for Robonaut or future robots to be able to perform increasingly advanced medical procedures either through telemedicine or by themselves without assistance. Take a look:
