Two-Headed Turtle Born at San Antonio Zoo

A two-headed turtle recently hatched at the San Antonio Zoo. The zoo says bicephaly occurs most commonly with snakes and turtles. The bicephalic turtle is actually twins that did not separate. Craig Pelke, curator of reptiles, amphibians, and aquatics at the zoo, says the turtle eats with both of its heads. Pelke said in a statement, "At this time, Thelma and Louise are doing well on exhibit and eating with both heads."
The turtle has been named Thelma and Louise. Take a look:
