Wearable Robot Lets Humans Easily Lift Over 100 Pounds With Each Hand

Researchers from Italy have developed a wearable robot that enables humans to easily lift over 100 pounds (50 kilograms) with each hand. The robotic exoskeleton is quite large. The Robo-suit was developed by researchers at the Perceptual Robotics Laboratory (Percro) at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, Italy. A bearded man straps himself into the robotic body extender in this video from BBC News. The developers say the suit has 22 degrees of from freedom. It is powered by an electric motor. The developers also say the wearable robot could be used in factories and in search and rescue operations where heavy debris needs to be cleared to get to the injured. Take a look:
