Woman Claims She Was Attacked by Asian Carp

A Woman says flying Asian carp attacked her and her family on a boat on Lake Nesbit in Mississippi. She says, "hundreds of fish started jumping out of the water everywhere." The woman was knocked out of her boat and had to be rescued by her husband. She survived the attack, but suffered a broken collarbone. An article here argues that Asian carp are a true threat. They tend to sometimes leap out of the water around boats and can jump eight to ten feet high. Having dozens of fish weighing 20 pounds or more flying through the air at you can be dangerous. In March, 2010 a woman bowfishing had her jaw broken by a leaping Asian carp. This photo shows the very moment the carp hit her face.
