Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer is Difficult

Actor Patrick Swayze recently died from pancreatic cancer, which has increased the public's curiosity about the deadly disease. You can find some pancreatic cancer resources here. One reason cancer is difficult to stop is it usually is not detected until it is too late. Dr. Jennifer Ashton explains in the clip below that early detection is difficult due to a lack of efficient screening for pancreatic cancer. A family history of pancreatic cancer can help encourage someone to watch for it. Smoking is also linked to pancreatic cancer.
