Camera Traps Capture Snow Leopard Cubs on Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan

Posted on December 8, 2012

Camera traps placed by Panthera on the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan have captured an elusive snow leopard and her two cubs. The cubs can be seen pawing at icicles in the video, which was made from the photographs. One of the curious cubs also presses its face against the camera lens. Panthera says 300 of the estimated remaining 3,500 - 7,000 snow leopards in the wild live in the Tajik Pamris.

You can watch the video here.

Snow leopard cubs were also captured on film in Mongolia's Tost Mountains earlier this year.
