Baby River Dolphin Born in China's Tongling Freshwater Dolphin Nature Reserve

A baby river dolphin was born at the Tongling Freshwater Dolphin Nature Reserve in Anhui Province, China. The baby dolphin is 50 centimeters long and weighs 4 kilograms. It is the third baby dolphin found in the reserve this month. There are a total of nine adult river dolphins in the Tongling reserve, four females and five males. The river dolphin produces only a single baby after an eleven month pregnancy, so to have three baby dolphins produced by this small group in such a short time frame is very unusual. The river dolphin is a nationally protected species in China. Here is a video of the baby river dolphin:
