Baby Zonkey Born at Animal Reserve in Italy

A baby zonkey, named Ippo, was born earlier this month at an animal reserve in Italy. Ippo's parents are a male zebra and a female Amiata donkey, an endangered donkey species. ABC News reports that the animal reserve tried to keep the zebra and donkey apart, but the zebra jumped the fence and mated with the donkey anyway. The little zonkey looks healthy in this Italian news video. The zonkey has stripes on its legs as well as some zebra-like stripes on his body. Ippo probably won't impregnate any females when he is older because zonkeys are usually genetically unable to breed. Take a look:
