Computer Simulation of Flexible Muscle-Based Locomotion for Bipedal Creatures

Here is a computer simulation of flexible muscle-based locomotion for bipedal creatures. The creatures walk over a checkered landscape. Some of the creatures have very long necks. The simulation shows some of the generations of test creatures that failed and fall flat on their faces. The computer generated creatures are shown walking with different gaits and at different speeds. At one point they also face obstacles, such as flying blocks and difficult terrain. The interesting simulation was created by Thomas Geijtenbeek, Michiel van de Panne and Frank van der Stappen. Take a look:
