DARwIn the Robot Prefers Tecate Beer Over Bud Light

This robot has a beer preference. DARwIn-OP is a $12,000 miniature-humanoid-robot platform from Trossen Robotics. In this video, DARwIn appears very interested in a Tecate beer can, but uninterested in a Bud Light can. As PopSci suggests it appears DARwIn may have the recent RoboCup on his mind as he begins kicking the Tecate can. DARwIn might think the beer is a soccer ball. Take a look:

It could be that the robot likes the color red. DARwIn does relentlessly pursue and kick a red soccer ball in this video where he is playing with some kids. Take a look:
