Doubts Over World's Largest Dinosaur Egg Claim in Chechnya

Chechen scientists discovered large smooth elliptical objects in a cliff near a construction site. Time reports that Chechen State University scientists say the objects - which measure up to 3 feet in diameter - are dinosaur eggs, but other scientists are suspicious. Chechnya State University posted photographs of the "eggs." If these objects were dinosaur eggs they would dwarf the biggest dinosaur eggs found to date - eggs found in China in the mid-1990s that were 2 feet long and had an 8-inch diameter.
Valentina Nazarova from Moscow State University's palaeontology department, says, "Unfortunately, it's not true. Dinosaurs laid small eggs. Dinosaurs didn't lay eggs while jumping about like mountain goats."
