EMIEW2, Hitachi's Office Assistant Robot, Can Quickly Locate Misplaced Scissors or Staplers

Hitachi has created a cute little red helmet wearing robot, EMIEW2, that was designed to be an office assistant. In this video, EMIEW2 is quickly able to point out where a pair of missing scissors is located. EMIEW2 has an advantage in finding things because he can tap into office security cameras.

The robot can move as quickly as a briskly walking person. It can also accurately recognize and respond to human voices against background noise. EMIEW2 would be great if you cannot remember where the stapler went in your office, but annoying if used by your boss to spy on you. Take a look:
