EPIC NASA Video Shows a Year of Life on Earth

NASA has released a video showing a full year of life on Earth as viewed by the EPIC camera on NOAA's DSCOVR satellite. EPIC stands for Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera. The stunning first light images from EPIC were taken on July 6, 2015 and released on July 20, 2015.EPIC takes a new picture of our planet every two hours from 1 million miles away. These images capture changing clouds and weather systems. They also reveal subtle changes in deserts, forests and seas. NASA says EPIC enables scientists to "monitor ozone and aerosol levels in Earth’s atmosphere, cloud height, vegetation properties and the ultraviolet reflectivity of Earth."
