First Downed Tree Report in Virginia From Hurricane Irene

Some of Hurricane Irene's outer bands are edging their way into Virginia. As a result the first down tree damage report from Virginia Beach has been issued by the National Weather Service out of Wakefield, Virginia. There will likely be many more similar reports in the hours ahead.

There have been many similar reports of down trees and power outages in North Carolina, where Hurricane Irene is hours away from a landfall near Morehead City.
