Galaxy IC 342: A Spider Web of Stars

NASA released this gorgeous image of Galaxy IC 342, which resembles a spider's web swirled into a spiral. The image is from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. Galaxy IC 342 is 10 million light-years away.

NASA says new stars are forming at a healthy rate, particularly in the brightly glowing center of the galaxy. NASA says this indicates an enormous burst of star formation occurring in the tiny center region.
