Huge Spider Colony in Brazil Makes it Look LIke It is Raining Spiders

Here is an interesting video coming out of Brazil. Gawker reports that web designer Erick Reis captured the video footage. The spiders in the video are Anelosimus Eximius, a type social spider, according to a biologist interviewed by G1. These spiders can have large colonies containing thousands of individual spiders. The spiders construct interconnected webs, called sheet webs, to catch insects. Working together also enables the spiders to capture larger prey than they could by themselves, see here.
