Hugvie is a Huggable Vibrating Robotic Cushion

Posted on April 27, 2012

Hugvie is a robotic cushion designed for hugging. The shape of Hugvie is based on Telenoid, a strange looking robot created by Osaka University's Professor Ishiguro.

Hugvie contains a pocket for a cell phone. It also contains a microcontroller and vibrators designed to match the voice of the person calling you on your cell phone. The developers say, "The two vibrators produce a throbbing sound like a heartbeat." Take a look:

The $60 robot can be found here on the Vstone robot shop.
