Insect-like SpaceClimber Robot Designed to Climb Steep Uneven Terrain

German researchers at the DFKI Bremen Robotics Innovation Center have built an insect-like robot (SpaceClimber) that excels at climbing steep uneven terrain. SpaceClimber slowly, but steadily, makes its way up an 80% grade in this video. SpaceClimber begins climbing the steep terrain around the 3:00 minute mark. Take a look:
