Japanese Researchers Develop Air Hockey Robot

Japanese researchers at Chiba University's Namiki Lab have built an air hockey robot. Automaton reports that the robot was built using a Barrett four-axis robotic arm and a PC. Two high-speed cameras are used to help the robot keep track of the puck as it travels. This puts its human opponent at a disadvantage. The robot can also use data it collects in a Motion Pattern Histogram to learn your moves over time. Take a look:
