Little Robot Balances on Moving Ball With Help of Weighted Pointy Hat

A little robot, named Thymio II, uses its accelerometers to balance on the surface of a ball while moving. An explanation of how this works - and source code - can be found here. In the second video, Thymio's wearing a cute pointy hat that is more than just an accessory. Thymio's hat is also a weight that helps with the adhesion of the wheels to the ball. Take a look:
