Lost Antarctic Emperor Taken to New Zealand Zoo

The New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC) was not originally planning on intervening and rescuing a lost Antarctic Emperor penguin that appeared earlier this week on Peka Peka Beach. However, plans changed when the penguin started to appear ill. The penguin was taken to a zoo. The penguin may have become sick from eating sand. Experts think the penguin probably thought the sand was snow. Take a look:
