MABEL is the World's Fastest Bipedal Robot With Knees

A two-legged robot in a University of Michigan lab can run like a human. The robot, named MABEL, is thought to be the world's fastest bipedal robot with knees. The robot - which weighs nearly 150 pounds - can run at a peak pace of 6.8 miles per hour. The engineers who created MABEL see the robot as a model for robots that could one-day serve as robotic soldiers or rescuers. A MABEL-like bot could someday be used to save you or it could be used to chase you down and destroy you. Take a look:
