Robotic Wheelchair Can Climb Steps

There are still many areas that are not wheelchair accessible and lack ramps. This new wheelchair robot from Chiba Tech attempts to solve that problem. The wheels on the wheelchair robot can become legs which can climb steps. The wheelchair also keeps the seat balanced while traversing uneven terrain. It can also turn in a circle. It is a cool thing for a robot to do but ramps still need to be installed to make things easier for people in wheelchairs. Take a look:
