SOINN Robot Uses Past Experiences to Solve Problems

Japanese scientists have created a robot that applies what it has learned in the past to new situations. The robot is named Self-Organizing Incremental Neural Network (SOINN). The scientists say when the robot is given a new task to complete it will either decide how to do it based on past experiences or it will say it doesn't know how to perform the task. Blocks and pills are used to represent ice and liquid in the experiment. Take a look:
