Spinning Ice Disk Discovered in North Dakota River

A spinning ice disk was discovered in North Dakota's Sheyenne River by retired engineer George Loegering. The rare phenomenon was seen in a British river in 2009. A combination of cold, dense air and an eddy are responsible for the interesting spinning disks of ice. Wikipedia lists a few more ice disks. The one in the Sheyenne River is about 50 feet in diameter. Take a look:
