Swumanoid is a Swimming Humanoid Robot

Chung Changhyun and Motomu Nakashima at the Tokyo Institute of Technology have created Swumanoid, a swimming humanoid robot. Swumanoid is able to perform several different types of swimming methods, including breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke and dog paddling. The robot was designed so researchers could make accurate tests for the design of certain items, such as water resistant swimwear. Swumanoid is ideal for this type of testing because it always performs the same strokes, unlike human swimmers who are less consistent. Take a look:
