The Tripod Fish Stands on the Ocean Floor

The tripod fish is an amazing fish. Enormously elongated pectoral fins allow the tripod fish to stand on the sea floor. The tripod fish stand on the bottom of the ocean and face into the current and wait for passing prey. The tripod fish is also a hermaphrodite.

In this video, the unusual tripod fish appears to spot an ROV behind it and turns around. The depth is 1443 meters. Take a look:
