Tupac Hologram Performs at Coachella

Popsci.com reports that a holographic Tupac took the stage at the 2012 Coachella concert. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog even joined the hologram of the late rapper on the stage. Take a look:

Venturebeat.com says this could usher in a wave of posthumous performances and concerts by deceased artists, such as Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain or John Lennon. Existing artists can also perform in multiple places simultaneously as a hologram. Deutsche Telekom used the technology last year to have Mariah Carey appear in five different places for a Christmas concert. Take a look:

New artists can also be digitally created. Japan already has a holographic popstar named Hatsune Miku. Here is a video from one of her concerts:
