UC Berkeley's Biomimetic Millisystems Lab Builds Small Robots Inspired by Cockroaches and Birds

UC Berkeley's Biomimetic Millisystems Lab is building robots modeled after insects and birds. The video below shows the lab's new creepy Octoroach and BOLT robots. BOLT stands for Bipedal Ornithopter for Locomotion Transitioning. The Octoroach slowls crawls over a rocky surface using its eight legs. BOLT resembles a dragonfly or bird as it flies around the room. You can read more about the new robots here. Take a look:
