Video: One Year of the Moon in 2.5 Minutes

Here is a cool video from the Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio that compresses one year of the moon in 2.5 minutes. The shadows are based on the global elevation map being developed from measurements by the Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA), which is aboard the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). NASA says this marks the first time that accurate shadows at this level of detail are possible in such a computer simulation. Take a look:
