National Physical Laboratory Develops System That Identifies People Based on the Way They Walk

The U.K.'s National Physical Laboratory (NPL) has developed a walking gait recognition system. When used in combination with other tools the system can track an individual though a CCTV monitored area by analyzing the way that they walk. Once an individual's particular walking gait signature has been configured the system can even identify previous locations that person has visited. A person's gait signature can be represented by a set of numbers (example at 3:24 in the video). Take a look:
