Whale Beached 800 Yards Inland in a Field in East Yorkshire, UK

A 33-foot-long Sei whale was found beached 800 yards inland in a field in East Yorkshire, U.K. The leading theory, described by the Daily Mail, is that an exceptionally high equinox tide carried the Sei whale 800 yards inland. The whale then possibly became stranded after rolling over on its blow hole and suffocating. The area where the whale was found is a salt marsh that is connected to the ocean.
