The U.S. State Department has issued a Global Level 3 Health Advisory: Reconsider Travel. The State Department is advising citizens to reconsider any travel abroad because of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
The advisory says, "The Department of State advises U.S. citizens to reconsider travel abroad due to the global impact of COVID-19. Many areas throughout the world are now experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks and taking action that may limit traveler mobility, including quarantines and border restrictions. Even countries, jurisdictions, or areas where cases have not been reported may restrict travel without notice."
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the the coronavirus is a pandemic earlier today.
The advisory directs U.S. citizens to the CDC Coronavirus page to obtain information about the growing outbreak.
The CDC site advises older adults and people with serious chronic medical conditions to avoid crowds, avoid cruise travel, avoid non-essential air travel and stay home as much as possible to reduce the risk of being exposed to the virus.
