Fungal Meningitis Outbreak Now Linked to 119 Cases, 11 Deaths

The death toll from an outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to tainted steroid injections for back pain has increased to 11. The case count is 119. The injections of preservative-free methylprednisolone acetate (80mg/ml) have been linked to the New England Compounding Center (NECC). The CDC has a website about the outbreak here. They also have a chart that lists healthcare facilities that received lots of the recalled steroid.
