Video: Severe Sandstorm Hits Baghdad

A heavy sandstorm brought traffic in Baghdad to a standstill. Drivers could only see a few meters in front of them. Police officers wore masks downtown. There are reports that hospitals have filled up with people suffering from respiratory problems because of the storms. Sandstorms are a regular occurence in the city, but RTE News says drought has made the sandstorms much more severe than normal. You can hear the strong winds blowing the sand and dust into the air in the video. If you have allergies this video might induce sneezing. Take a look:
