Blind Man Test Drives Google's Self-Driving Car

Google's self-driving car recently took Steve Mahan, a blind man, for a ride. The ride in Google's modified Toyota Prius included a stop at Taco Bell. Steve said, "This is some of the best driving I've every done."

Take a look:

Google says, "We organized this test as a technical experiment outside of our core research efforts, but we think it's also a promising look at what this kind of technology may one day deliver for society if rigorous technical and safety standards can be met."

Marketing Land has an article on the legality of these driverless vehicles. There was a police car in front and back of the Google vehicle chauffeuring Steve Mahan. Google says its driverless vehicles have completed more than 200,000 miles of computer-led driving.
