Lifelike Robot Communicators on Display at Tokyo Museum

Two new robots are on display at Tokyo's National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan). The robots, Kodomoroid (left) and Otonaroid (right), will act as museum communicators. The robots are part of an exhibit called "Android: What is Human?"
The exhibition is curated by Dr. Hiroshi Ishiguro, a professor at Osaka University, who developed the robots. Kodomoroid was designed to resemble a human child and will read media news reports 24 hours a day in different languages. Otonaroid was designed to resemble an adult female. She is the Miraikan's robot science communicator. People at the exhibit can communicate with Otonaroid.
An odd looking legless robot called Telenoid is also on display at the museum. Visitors to the can interact with Telenoid and give it a hug.
