University of Illinois' Born to Die Program Developing Vanishing Electronics

Researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, led by Professor John Rogers, are building vanishing or transient electronics in a program called "Born to Die."
The first step in this line of electronics is a chip that dissolves when it is squirted with water. The researchers say tech gadgets that easily dissolve could help reduce waste in landfills. The transient technology could also have medical and military applications. DARPA announced earlier this year it was seeking electronics that can degrade or dissolve after use so they cannot be recovered and used by the enemy. Take a look:
