Cross-eyed Opossum Named Heidi Becomes Internet Sensation

Heidi, a cross-eyed opossum, has become a star in Germany. Heidi's photos are also spreading around the Internet. Heidi lives at the Leipzig Zoo in Germany. You can find her webpage here on the Leipzig Zoo's website.

The Washington Post reports that zoo officials think Heidi's crossed eyes could be the result of a poor diet when Heidi was a young opossum. At the zoo Heidi's poor vision is not a problem for her because she can compensate using her great sense of smell. However, an opossum with poor vision might not survive in the wild. Take a look:
