Dr. Pepperberg's Research Finds African Grey Parrots Understand Colors, Shapes and Numbers

Dr. Irene Pepperberg, a Brandeis University psychology professor, is conducting research to determine how much African Grey Parrots understand about shapes, numbers and colors. She believes the parrots understand concepts like bigger and smaller and same and different. Her conversations with the birds are impressive. Dr. Irene Pepperberg also raised and taught Alex, the amazing talkative African Grey parrot, which died in 2007, at age 31. Take a look:
