Leaping Frog Captured in Photo During Launch of NASA LADEE Spacecraft

Posted on September 12, 2013

This photo of a leaping frog as NASA's LADEE spacecraft lifted off from Pad 0B at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia was taken by a still camera at the launch site.

The frog can be seen near the top left corner of the photo. NASA shared the amazing photo on its recently launched Instagram account. NASA's photo team confirms the frog is real. It was captured in a single frame by one of the remote cameras used to photograph the launch. The condition of the jumping frog is unknown. We hope it survived somehow.
