Posted on July 15, 2012

A video uploaded to YouTube shows a man's date with his augmented reality girlfriend. The man's date is Hatsune Miku, a virtual popstar created by Japan-based Crypton Future Media. The creator of the video shows some of the technology he used to create the AR girlfriend, which include a Kinect and some AR goggles. The virtual girl follows the wearer of the glasses around. She appears to hide behind real objects, such as trees, and can interact when touched. It gets disturbing when the man starts hitting his virtual girlfriend on the head, which she does not like.
