New Experiment Finds Some Drivers Intentionally Run Over Turtles

Posted on December 28, 2012

Nathan Weaver, a Clemson University student, conducted research to find ways to help box turtles that need to cross roads. The road is dangerous enough for box turtles, but during his research, Weaver found that some drivers deliberately ran over the rubber turtles. Take a look:

Drivers also ran over rubber creatures - including turtles and tarantulas - in a roadkill experiment conducted by NASA engineer Mark Rober earlier this year. Rober's study found that most of the people that went out of their way to run over rubber creatures were driving SUVs.
