OC Robotics Equips Flexible Snake-Arm Robot With Laser

OC Robotics has equipped one of its snake-arm robots with a 5kW laser to enable a selective, remote-controlled approach to dismantling and decommissioning complex structures in hazardous and confined nuclear environments. A 2.5m long, 100mm diameter snake-arm robot was adapted to carry the laser cutting head.

The second clip shows other uses for the company's snake-arm robots. Tools and cameras can be attached to the slithering robots, which can fit through small openings and travel through pipes. The laser equipped snake-arm robot is able to cut access holes in metal to get where it needs to go. Take a look:
