Tiny Flying Robot Resembles a Jellyfish

Posted on November 26, 2013

Leif Ristroph and colleagues at New York University have built a four-winged robot that flies like a jellyfish. New Scientist reports that the little bot could be freed from its tethered power source with a future improvement. NPR reports that the bot weighs just two grams. The Washington Post reports that Ristroph envisions tiny flying jellyfish toys that would cost just 50 cents each. These teensy lightweight drones could also be used to measure air quality.
