Video: Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute Explains Deepstaria Jellyfish

The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) reports on the Deepstaria, which has received a lot of attention lately following the blob-like creature recorded by cameras on a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) that turned out to be a Deepstaria reticulum jellyfish. MBARI says the Deepstaria reticulum appeared odd because its medusa was being blown around by the thrusters of the ROV. MBARI shares some footage of Deepstaria reticulum and Deepstaria enigmatica that are not being blown inside out in this video. Deepstaria have more of a bag-like or bulb-like appearance in their natural form. Take a look:
